I love the "old style" "circle and cross" stencil (smaller of the two) in the last image - man, to have that today!

Thanks for the series Con. As a younger lad, in the early 80's I went
there to work on a pump in the boiler house. I didn't carry a camera
then. What an idiot i was!

That second image of 2107 is really interesting in that it shows just how Santa Fe did their chopnoses. Looks like they used the front and roof from the top half of the old high hood grafted to the walls of the bottom half, with headlight and numberboards filled in and new style classlights fitted. Also interesting how the angled cab was "built up" from the old round roof.
