Chicago in the winter time Burrrrrrrrrrrrr! Part 5
Author: SP6190

The next morning I headed up to Rondout. I didn’t have to wait long for my first train. Here comes the 46 on the point of a commuter that will be making a left turn after crossing over to the south bound main just beyond the station platform. The commuter was followed by a north bound with three GP38’s led by the 353.

Then from the north came a solid auto frame train with two U30C’s. The final train at Rondout was a north bound Amtrak Turbo train for Milwaukee.

Heading back south I caught another north bound Milwaukee commuter at Northbrook, this time with a E9 on the point. The bridge in the background with the train on it, is the CNW freight line to Milwaukee. At Des Plaines on the CNW Northwest line, three GP35’s were on a empty auto parts train heading back into town.
