Nostalgia & History > Santa Fe SteamDate: 08/07/06 07:00 Santa Fe Steam Author: yardclerk Here are some more pictures I found at my LHS this weekend.
1. This is a Santa Fe PR picture. Caption reads: Santa Fe Class 2900, type 4-8-4. Used in heavy freight service between Argentine Ks and Clovis NM. One of 30 oil burners. Driving wheels - 80 inches diameter; tender capacity: 25,000 gallons water and 7,oo gallons of oil. 2. Santa Fe 2922 at Waynoka Ok. roundhouse. Photographer unknown. Note the F units at the left side of the picture. 3. Santa Fe Roundhouse, Waynoka Ok. Photograpjer unknown. My collection. While this is a poor picture of the roundhouse, it is the only one I have ever seen. Does anyone have a better shot? Would like to see4 it if possible. Rode behind one on the Scout to California in 1946. The guy in the photo at the roundhouse looks like he's been used as a dipstick. I hope to see 2926 running again at Albuquerque before long.
