You might find some useful resources on the links page of the WPRRHS site here:

You might have to dig around a bit but there is a lot of material between all of the sites listed here.

Thanks Chuck, thanks Mike. Some great stuff there! Nice photos of 805A and 801. KRK has a nice one of 803. Wish I could find more on 803; however, I have enough to get me going. All you guys are great! Thanks for the help. Wish I could invent a time machine.

Seeing these photos reminded me of something. Back in 1984 after my Father passed away ,Mom wanted us boys to come over and help decide what to do with some of the things around the property and be prepared to make a "dump run". Well one of the "things" I thought had to go was this dangerous ladder contrapion used to paint the exterior of the 2 story apt. building in the back yard. It had wheels to roll it around the building -it was made of aluminum ladders -one being curved at the top. What use is this curved ladder I thought-to the dumps it goes!

The "dump run" truck was loaded and about ready to leave when an older and much wiser brother showed up. He naturally checked the dump load for for things he might want. When he saw the curved aluminum ladder he exclaimed that it was a ladder that hooked on the cowl of this kind of diesel -for the worker to climb and clean the windshield!

Well Mom donated it to the train museum in Sacramento along with 3 milk crates of diesel engine manuels.

The older brother was a ex Southern Pacific electrian. My Father was a roundhouse foreman at Bayshore (1922-67).

I'm not sure what the statement "I new them as a prototype for model trains" means.

I'm guessing he meant "need"
