Nostalgia & History > Sierra #40 in Fresh PaintDate: 10/04/09 15:41 Sierra #40 in Fresh Paint Author: DaylightGS-4 Long ago, I happened to stop by the Sierra Shops on a Saturday afternoon to find The #40 sitting outside and the last of the 3 locomotives to be painted in the new Green and White paint. The paint was still not dry as it had only been applied during the last few days. The masking tape was removed just before I arrived. They claimed I was the first one to shoot the last engine in the new paint scheme. One can also see the bay window caboose that had arrived on the scene but did not last long. I believe it ended up at a private residence in Waterford, CA.
