ex-GM&O baggage car at McComb,Miss--June 78

This car was near the ICG shop area.
The small baggage door on the right had me thinking this might have been an RPO at one time but I don't see any evidence of windows.

The GM&O lettering and paint was making a comeback -- including the Railway Express Agency (better on picture 1 than on the other side - picture 3).

Thanks for sharing. Once you start building models of cars like that you start noticing the details.

The small door is just another baggage door in my opinon--kind of like a door and a half.

I also appreciate your sharing.

The car was built for the Mobile & Ohio as a baggage-express. At the time before the merger that formed GM&O, M&O was controlled by the Southern Railway, so the car is actually a Southern Railway design. The big door should be 7' and the small one 4'2".

Builder and builder date: before 1920? ACF?

Both ACF and Pullman built the Southern Railway specification baggage-expresses for M&O. However ACF embellished the Southern specs with a few more rivets and whatnot. This particular car is ACF built in the twenties. I'm too disorganized now to lay my hands on the exact date.
