Signal For Signal Sunday, Niles Canyon, March 1967
Author: FiveChime

I wasn't sure if I should post this under "Signal Sunday" or "Tell Tail Tuesday".

I went over this bridge on the Niles Canyon Railway several times today. Pictured is the original tell tail. PLA in cooperation with a local Boy Scout troop has had a reproduction constructed here and we have put the block signal back also, but it does not yet light.

I'm expecting someone to tell me the correct spelling of the word "Tell Tale".

Regards, Jim Evans

Here are the same signals, at the former location of Farwell, in 1979. First one looking east, 2nd looking west. Sorry, the second one is a little "soft".

Nice pictures.
Maybe Tell-Tale, with the hyphen. But not sure.
Thanks for sharing.

Or maybe a whole bunch of tell-tails?

Don't know about SP, but the way you wrote it is the way Santa Fe had it on their standard plan (two words, no hyphen, and T-A-L-E rather than T-A-I-L).
