anyone know if BN assigned u30b's or gp40's to centraila illinois in the 1970s or 80s. if so what kind of trains where they used on.

The U30B's were assigned to Lincoln with the rest of the four axle GE fleet and all 40 GP40's were assigned to Clyde in Chicago. ALL these units roamed freely thru out the midwest and were predominate power out of Galesburg in all directions. The were common to St. Louis and on the Kansaas City line were I experienced them.
