That's easy all you have to do is look to see where the creosote ran out.

By the way, I had been thinking about doing this "where is it" for some time, but I was inspired to go ahead and do it by a post on the Eastern Discussion, Tipton-Kokomo IN rail project... :

Here's some additional info. The bridge span is sixty feet. The other end was marked with Michigan City and had an arrow pointing away. Indianapolis is actually in the opposite direction from how the bridge is oriented and is not any where close.

Humm is this former indiana hi rail territory, i only ask because you say indianapolis is in the other direction, you mentioned tipton so it makes me think of the old ihr line that runs north from tipton? Which has seen some work this summer that i seen.

Thank you for your interest. It is not in Indiana or for that matter even an adjacent state.

Obviously the bridge span was not installed where it was intended for. It was built to replace this bridge at Cassville, IN on the old I&MC line:

The bridge replacement would have eliminated a weight restriction and would have allowed resumption of through service on the line.

But the question of "where is it" still remains? Anyone want a photo that shows more?
