Valmont, as I look at this, some of those "GP9B's" appear
to be "Omaha GP20's," EMD version. I'm wondering if any
of the original 9B's went back to EMD for the conversion?

Look at the long, long trail of smoke from those engines. The haze is a good reminder of how polluted regions of the country were in the '60's.

No one has ever deemed western Wyoming to have an air quality problem. The diesel exhaust will be in Kansas shortly. You can see how the exhaust is laid back over the hoods so Wyoming winds are probably 30+ mph this day. The Salt Lake City crud is pretty much held back by the Wasatch Range and was rarely a problem for Wyoming.
