UP GP-30 Leading a Freight around Sullivan's Curve
Author: miralomarail

The Union Pacific of the 70's was often boring, with massive amounts on SD-40's everywhere, however, sometimes, the UP would out do its self , like here in Aug of 1973 Rounding Sullivan's Curve with a EB led by a UP GP-30 # 869

I wonder how many of those jalopies were loading... EMD made some real "cruds" and they weren't SW-1500's.

4-axle trucks on Cajon curves--I can hear the squealing and peeling (of rail).

Looks like an SD45 trailing the DD35's.

Nice shot. That train would be worth chasing. Interesting to see that the SP tracks back then were single tracked with no siding.
