MKT wooden RPO - Lounge or coach?
Author: DWDebs/2472

The combination RPO (note mail-catcher hook across the narrow doorway) - lounge? or coach? is very unusual. I can't recall ever seeing another mainline first-class train combination RPO-anything_else except RPO-baggage.

Despite the dirt "ballast", that's one well-maintained up-to-the-minute first-class passenger train.

A wonderful view into the prarie world before paved roads or automobiles, even if it took a derailment to justify taking a photo of a "normal" train.

Thanks! - Doug Debs

Some of the early McKeen and gas-electric units had combo RPO-coach sections I believe...

The Santa Fe bought three RPO-Chairs. I believe that one of those cars is still around; somewhere in Calif, wag216
