Here we have a MP SD40-2 heading East at Courtney MO on the ATSF in Sept. 1983. The MP had trackage rights from Congo (Independence MO) to Eton Jct MO to access the MP River Sub to Jefferson City Mo. This scene today is much different and inaccessible. The highway viaduct has been replaced with a slightly new alingment. The grade crossing that I was shooting from is gone, the station nasme eliminated, the spur track removed,but there are now 3 main tracks through here.

Great shot, and a caboose next to the units. Always liked to see crummies out of position. I this because they have run around their train and pulling it into a yard, or just moving an extra caboose to another location?

I would guess moving the caboose somewhere else.
