More Kodachromes, including unrebuilt SD45
Author: choochoocharlie

1 - SD9 rebuild #4372 leads the Coos Bay "hauler" into the Eugene yard just coming off of the Coos Bay Y. Even the icicle breakers got fresh paint. The 106 car train also had 4415, 3780, 3822 and 4396 in the power consist. Photo taken on Kodachrome 200 on February 18th, 1987.
2 - SP Extra 9092 West led by SD45 #9092 with 7374 and 8334 leaving Eugene at the East 8th Ave and Hilyard St. grade crossing. They were able to restart the 8334, but the 7374 is still dead. Notice the nice yellow touchs of paint on the snow plow grabs and the uncoupling lever. Taken on Kodachrome 64 on March 6th, 1987.
3 - SD40T-2 #8351 in power consist of the "Roseburger" going thru Eugene and headed for the Siskiyou Branch. The power consist was BN #8025, BN #8101, SP #8283, SP #8351 and SP #8304. Photo taken on Kodachrome 200 on March 30th, 1987.

Really enjoyed the look back! I've always thought of the 9092 as one of the oddest SP diesels. A well-worn unit that had little chance of a new identity... yet it got lucky.

Thanks for these treats!
