an Oroville Thanksgiving . .
Author: 3rdswitch

. . spent Thanksgiving weekend in 1972 with a friend up in Oroville, CA fanning the WP. Had Thanksgiving dinner at the Thrifty diner in Oroville back when Thrifty had diners. A couple of shots of power sitting around Oroville yard and at last light a westbound Hiline train nearing the north end of the yard. Hope all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Nice Joe! We probably got in your way somewhere up there as a friend and I were also up there that Thanksgiving weekend. We also had turkey in Oroville that evening, but I don't remember it being at Thrifty's. Some other restaurant that was about to close. Was a great weekend!

All three are good but thanks especially for the ex-NP SD45. Most photos on the WP showed them trailing so nice to see one in the lead position!

Interesting, in the background of the first photo appears to be a BN flat upside down on top of an SP flat. Wonder what the story is there?

The 729 while it still had footboards. My favorite switcher...

That NP scheme is a favorite of mine, even though I never saw one! Always love to see pictures of them on the point.
