St. Anne, IL August 20, 2001

Signal problems at the KB&S diamond has every train on the joint CSX/UP line stopping to get talked by the red signal. Having never been to St. Anne before, we frantically hurried to the diamond just in time to witness CSX Q129 proceeding across the diamond while UP ZMXYC talked to the dispatcher. Timing is everything.

During the fall of 1962 when I had flunked out of college, I worked for NYC in AB office in Indianapolis. One night we had a message addressed to the agent at Stannne, and it took us a long time to figure out that Stanne was St Anne. But we did.
