Benton County, where Monroe is, grows lots of Christmas Trees. First one was taken Sept 1979. Rest Nov 1977. Todd Montgomery Springfield OR Edited 1 time(s). Thanks for looking... Todd M. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/26/12 21:07 by coosbaytoday. Much more interesting to see them in PFEs!

The best of everything all wrapped in one scene. SP, PFE, Oregon geography, Christmas trees, the greatest smell, and holiday traditions! Wow!
Only question is how did the PFE car become clean in those particular areas? Date: 11/27/12 05:37 Re: Loading Christmas Trees on SP Westside line Author: Arved Fizzboy7 Wrote:

Here is how it is being done this year. I went up to Silver Creek Falls for a hike Sunday and the helicoper was working. The trees are cut and loose piled. The helicopter picks them up and puts them in a large dump truck. From the time the helicopter does a pick up, goes to the truck, returns, and starts the next pick up is less than 45 seconds. The truck takes them to were they are bound for shipment. Haven't seen any treees on I-5 this year. (doesn't mean they aren't there) I did see a "Interstate" long haul truck on the back road up there so that may be the way they are getting out. BTW, that is a mind numbing number of trees that get processed every season. Date: 11/28/12 22:26 Re: Loading Christmas trees on SP Westside line Author: Kodachromedude One of the coolest posts I've ever seen on TO! Thanks so much for sharing. Got any more?
