Way back in August of 1970 I went with my folks on MY last summer Vacation to Montana from Arcadia in Southern California.

The drive north was on mostly US 91 since Interstate 15 was not completed at the time, you stayed pretty close to the RR as I remember it 42 years later.

These shots were of a local stopped at Downey, Idaho to do some switching at the local Grain Elevator.

After these shots it was off to Butte, Mt.

No dynamics on the middle Geep. Rare on the UP. Even more rare on the Northwestern District. Send it back to Kansas or Nebraska.

Jay, hope you took some Butte pictures, still need some scenes for the layout.

I remember pacing a UP train with Geeps in the St. Anthony area on a trip to Yellowstone in the late 1970s.
