Between runs at Sacramento 1960

5893 sits in the shed next to the Sacramento Depot in 1960. I rode up to Sacramento on Train 223 the Senator from Oakland for a day of rail fanning. She will return in the afternoon with Train 224 the westward Senator. I guess this location has seen some changes in the last 50 years.

Fantastic shot of a favorite Geep.

Could it be the most-renumbered ex-SP GP9 still running? It carried five numbers while on the SP alone...

The shed was there 2/27/1968, but was gone by 3/20/1971.

IIRC since it was the locomotive shed for originating and departing passenger trains at Sacramento it did not survive Amtrak.
