Seaboard E unit at Denver - Denver Zephyr ??
Author: JimBaker

Another set of slides from the Pacific Railroad Society Museum in San Dimas, CA.
This is from the Elbert Gann Collection.

Is this E-unit the same one that was painted up as Atlantic Coast Line and lived at Denver for a time?
I cannot find anything through the search function.

Do you think the Eastern board would like this?

Details,dates,please!

Yes, it is. Was there for several years.

What was the reason for it being in Denver?

Whenever I see this engine I think of the painting by Robert West entitled "Black Thunder". Several years ago I met him and bought an autographed copy of this portrait, as well as his painting of "Burlington Thunder". Whenever I see the 501 I think of the black because of that. I can't get use to the purple.

Yes, privately owned ex-ACL E3A #501. Now resident at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.

That nose looks like an E6, or is it just the angle of the camera?

First shot I've seen of it parked in that location...it was stored just east of the station for a long time. Is there any date on the slide?
