GP30 parade at Cajon Summit

Here's one from "old" days at Cajon Summit. Santa Fe GP30s before the track realignments.

Outstanding! And, they are in their original numbers, too.

Is alot of this old r.o.w. still visible in Cajon despite the new summit track?

The cut in the background is still visible today. All the foreground stuff has been reconfigured and there's no trace of the original alignment there.

That image pre-dates 1966. None of the Geeps have yellow handrails yet. Also, a section of the Summit Post Office is visible, and the old rotating "TRAIN" warning sign for eastbounds has yet to be converted to an amber warning beacon.

Sweet memories, John.

Thank you for sharing it with us...
