Very clean SOO SD40's on Ford Freight!
Author: mp51w

Shot at Brookfield, WI in April of 1986. 203 was usually an afternoon train loaded with giant boxcars of auto parts, frames, and auto racks. Still used the Milwaukee Rd. train number, but obviously after Soo Line takeover.

Clean units are nice but that caboose is the best part of the three photos.

#33 when I zoomed in. Some of those Soo Line cabooses were really rusty toward the end. Also in picture #1, you can see a couple of hoppers parked on the Waukesha branch. That's the original mainline to Madison via Whitewater. I believe it's still railbanked to Waukesha.

That caboose is unusually clean for the post-Milwaukee Road merger era.
