Same loction - different time

The nice IOTD shot belonging to "highgreengraphics" of the UP special enroute to Colton, CA reminded me of a different morning back in February 1972. The location is the same, the light is "Sherman Hill winter gloomy" and the westbound hotshot is powered by units long gone. Just a view down memory lane.

During this era, I wonder if the UP power planners ever found themselves in a situation where they had trains to run but all they had in the terminal were B units. Somebody call me a cab!
