I wish your nice photo had sound with it. Believe it or not this lash up can be duplicated today on the Delaware Lackawanna.

Maybe some of those locomotives shown in this picture might rest at Steamtown. Who knows?

58 years of life and i never heard of Robbers Creek ... what a cool name ... the SP&S is my favorite western fallen flag

About 4 miles north of Westwood on the High Line (aka today's BNSF Gateway Sub). Also the beginning of CTC headed south (west) in the Western Pacific days, before UP pulled it out.

The 4253 is not among the C425's that eventually wound up in Delaware-Lackawanna's stable. The second unit is a C636, and no SP&S C636's survive.

That's a great pic, great scheme, great lashup, great sound (I'm sure), great scenery, great reason to get back.to the DL! It's been over 10 years since i last visited and those lashups will be history even there at some point.

Well not exactly. But this C636 did spend some time in Stockton as the Delta Bulk Terminals switcher.

First time I ever chased the D-L was last month while out there visiting relatives. Here's another video from that chase. ALCO Heaven! Wish I had been able to see the BN ALCO's on the WP highline. Great pic.

Probably was a struggle from Keddie to Robbers Creek for the crew
