Nostalgia & History > An ATSF Railway advertisement from 1884Date: 07/22/14 10:49 An ATSF Railway advertisement from 1884 Author: JoCoLB This is a reminder how the railroad industry and our country have changed over the past 130 years.
Pictured is an Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway promotional advertisement from 1884 that encouraged emigrant settlers to travel by company trains on the way to new land holdings. Wonder what kind of ID was required to get a ticket. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/25/14 09:24 by JoCoLB. TIA! Date: 07/22/14 13:05 Re: An ATSF Railway advertisement from 1884 Author: Evan_Werkema Back when ATSF was an RR instead of an RY.

That reminds me I haven't gone to see what's going on over at the Altamont Press Discussion Board these days. That's for sure. My wife is from England and she became a US resident the legal way. We are presently waiting very VERY patiently for the government to take it's sweet time processing the paperwork for her sons legal immigration. He was a minor when we got married and was issued a visa at that time, but stayed behind to finish some education and is ready to join us now. It's difficult for those who do it the legal way to watch all of the illegals waltz in and get supported on the tax payers dime. My wife and I work hard and follow the rules and wait many months, even years to do it properly - it's no wonder many are protesting. I could not have said it any better. |
