I Think I Can !!
Author: qman

6755 is close to the top of the curving, 1%+ grade leaving Walsenburg, CO. She's draggin' a loaded coal train destined for Houston, TX.

Normal was 4 C/U30's or 5 SD-40's and yes, those were definitely the days.

The Oakway's were fairly new at this time and the RR was "experimenting" with the locomotive consists assigned to coal service. Five 3000 hp. units were the standard power for several years. As locomotive "hot rodding" hit the scene the consists were modified accordingly. The final pre-70MAC consist ended up being 5 units of 3000 hp. each or 4 units with two units of greater than 3000 hp. It was in this time period that the C33-7 made its appearance on the BN. All the experiments were quite successful, I might add.
