Nostalgia & History > Kodachromes In TulsaDate: 07/23/14 22:21 Kodachromes In Tulsa Author: BNSF-6432 Even though Tulsa, OK wasn't exactly a Santa Fe town with the exception of the line from Kansas City, BN and Frisco hosted run-throughs on all subs though town. (Creek, Cherokee, and Avard) Although I was never able to experience any in my lifetime my father had captured many shots of these hotshots. For those that don't know Avard was mainly used by ATSF as it connects with the Santa Fe transcon in Avard, OK. Anyway, here's more from the Daryl McGee collection all in the kodachrome scheme.
1) A westbound intermodal leaves Tulsa on the BN before reaching ATSF trackage at the other end of the sub. Taken from Chandler Park hill 2) Same train running alongside the Arkansas River at the same location 3) A (westbound?) intermodal goes through a cut east of Mannford, OK on the Avard sub Dates unknown but I'm guessing late 70s early 80s PQM Date: 07/24/14 05:44 Re: Kodachromes In Tulsa Author: TTownTrains Nice 'chromes!
