Nostalgia & History > Railfan Friendly PaintDate: 08/26/14 08:18 Railfan Friendly Paint Author: ntharalson I've been scanning my slides over the last several months and have come to
a conclusion. While I yield to no man in my admiration for GN's "Omaha Orange" and Santa Fe's "Warbonnet" and "Bookend" schemes, I have to say that the BN's "Cascade Green" was the most railfan friendly scheme. Those big numbers on the long hood are easy to discern even when you're a long way away. And even when they went to the "Executive" scheme, those big numbers were nice. Just my two cents worth. You may now flame away. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 08/26/14 10:37 Re: Railfan Friendly Paint Author: thehighwayman ntharalson Wrote:

I especially like the "Executive" scheme ... plan on using a variation of it for my free-lance HO layout, if and when I ever get around to building it.
