Someone somewhere made a rule that you couldn't have greenery obscuring the running gear of the locomotive in your frame. If I'd held to that, I'd never have made this photo of a Katy-Mopac meet just south of Denton, Texas, on the line the two roads shared to Fort Worth. The exact date eludes me, but it's in one of those years of ample rain in the mid-1980s. No drought, so the prairie grass and wildflowers grew tall.
