Note the chrome grilles and handholds. I found this in the book, "The Ford Road, 75th Anniversary, Ford Motor Company, 1903-1978". This book was published in 1978.

Fans tend to identify them by their weight, and according to Diesel Locomotives: The First 50 Years, Ford 1000-1001 are 125 tons and the others are 132 tons. One of the latter, 1006, is preserved at the Lake Shore Railway Museum in Northeast, PA as WA&G 1700:
