Toto's vacation postcard [vol #2: 1925]
Author: santafe199

Greetings from French Creek State Park campground near Birdsboro, PA between Pottstown & Morgantown. The morning is a bit crisp, but the coffee is hot & plentiful, laced with a bit of French Vanilla creamer (in honor of the campground?). KJ is scaring up some hot cakes and we figure on cracking open that new tin of Vermont-made maple syrup.

As I was drifting off to la-la land last night I thought I could hear a horn. Then I feared it might only have been wishful thinking in an audible form. But this morning I heard an honest-to-goodness real horn & rumble of a train passing by. Real trains have been pretty scarce these past few days: The last actual moving train I laid eyes on was 6 days ago. I spotted a westbound intermodal hotshot from I-79 northbound while we were crossing the Ohio River west of Pittsburgh.

1. In honor of the state in which our campground is located, here is a postcard with an appropriate Pennsylvania Railroad subject image. The cancellation date on the other side reads "1925". Enjoy...

Nice find.
I suppose it's too early for fall colors in PA?

Now how on earth would you know that? It's like you grew up in Jersey, or some place... (hee hee hee)
Yipper, mostly still green everywhere. Some fall color, but very little...
