Date: 09/16/14 18:45 Re: SP at Keenbrook with the New Look Author: coach Great photo, and I heard that SP crews, and later UP management, loved these SD-70M's for their reliability.
And I love the background--the Cajon wash, silently waiting for the next DELUGE that will once again cover it's surface area with sudden flash floods and mudflows. Then, silence returns, maybe for decades... Date: 09/16/14 21:23 Re: SP at Keenbrook with the New Look Author: DynamicBrake Nice catch, thanks for sharing.

JB Date: 09/18/14 08:54 Re: SP at Keenbrook with the New Look Author: atsf121 Fantastic photo of a great locomotive lineup. Always loved it when our family trips took us over Cajon Pass. Still get to drive it now, but my wife gets a little nervous and asks if she should drive while I watch trains. :)
Nathan Date: 09/18/14 09:22 Re: SP at Keenbrook with the New Look Author: ButteStBrakeman If I remember, the Keenbrook crossover from the ATSF to the SP was almost where the rear of that train is?
V SLOCONDR Date: 09/18/14 14:56 Re: SP at Keenbrook with the New Look Author: spider1319 Virlon, you are correct. The new crossover is just east of the rear end of the train pictured. We watched it being built in anticipation of the merger between SP and ATSF.No merger and it was seldom used until UP and SP merged. We never used the crossover on the BARWCL/WCLBAR which I worked a lot.Even when we used the Mojave Sub to get into and out of West Colton we never used the Keenbrook crossover. Bill Webb Neither did I, Bill. When I worked out of Bakersfield they were putting that XO in, but I've never seen it used. V SLOCONDR |
