Nostalgia & History > A few SP at Sullivan's Curve in 1987Date: 09/18/14 02:39 A few SP at Sullivan's Curve in 1987 Author: CimaScrambler These are from the first couple of trips I made to Cajon Pass just to take train photos. I had stopped beside the road to watch the action a time or two over the years before that, but Chard Walker's book got me interested in really exploring the place. I have no idea how many frames I've exposed there since, but it has been quite a few, in all types of weather and all times round the clock.
1) An SP helper set heads up to Hiland to use its dynamic braking power to let a heavy manifest creep down to West Colton in October 1987. 2) A caboose on the rear of an eastbound mixed manifest in March 1987. 3) A string of covered hoppers heads up into Sullivan's Curve behind the plume of several engines on a hazy summer afternoon. Hard to believe this was a bit more than 27 years ago! Be safe out there - - Kit Kit Courter Menefee, CA LunarLight Photography Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/18/14 07:27 by CimaScrambler. I guess it caught on in much the same way as Nixon's "I am not a crook" did. Now, years later, you're left wondering: Did they/he REALLY say that?! Yep. Edited 1 time(s).
