did the static loco pics at Deer Lodge, Harlowton etc. but you've all seen the "stuffed animals" lol.

next time Martinsdale and would love to do the Eagles Nest.

In a few years it will all have reverted back to nature. Kind of looks like the Mopac's west end west of Osawatomie, Ks. Its only been gone fifteen years, and its already getting hard to find traces of it in places.

The eighth photo in this series of the right of way with the obviously empty signal case is absolutely haunting.

1) I would love to see the pictures of the "stuffed" electric at Deer Lodge.
2) That signal case looks like it's been used for target practice......

Great photo story. Poignant.

I was lucky enough to ride the Super Chief and the California Zephyr. I would indeed trade those experiences for one cross-country ride on the Olympian Hiawatha.

I think the copper bearing components like traction motors, MG and compressor were removed partly to make it easier to move on track panels and a back hoe.
