July 28, 1964 3. Train #20, The Klamath at Dorris, California. Interesting power, PA1, F7. We who live on the Peninsula enjoy these shots from yesteryear of our area. In #2 is that the highway 92 overpass behind the train? Posted from iPhone Date: 10/20/14 20:51 Re: SP In 1964, Tom Eikerenkotter Photos Author: callum_out No idea that a PA ever showed up on the Klamath, outstanding shot.

They show what we took for granted on the SP Coast Line back then, and the photo of the "Klamath" is most unique. That may have been the last run of a PA on that train...

When I get to feeling better I plan on running some mid 60's coastline trains. Gary Date: 10/21/14 08:34 Re: SP In 1964, Tom Eikerenkotter Photos Author: mapboy FiveChime Wrote:

Auto loads and empties are low priority these days, but then most trains other than Zs are. mapboy Date: 10/21/14 09:07 Re: SP In 1964, Tom Eikerenkotter Photos Author: TonyJ I love Tom's third shot.

That light ring around sharp transitions is an immediate give-away on that one. Suggestion when sharpening a photo: look for rings around telephone poles and things like that after you have sharpened the image. If you can see them, you have sharpened them too much. Back off and try again with less sharpness. If you can't get enough sharpness with the normal sharpen without rings, try the Unsharp Mask at various settings, or try doing it a couple of times at a lower setting. If you still can't get it sharp enough without rings, give up and leave it partly fuzzy. |
