Sperry Car #130 on January 17, 1973

On January 17, 1973, I photographed Sperry Car #130 tied down in Southern’s Salem Yard in Winston Salem, NC. At the time, this was thought to be a state of the art operation. The men both worked and lived on the car. Note the TV antenna.
My photo is in contrast to the one of a Sperry hi-rail truck in srlawton’s 10/20/14 post “Sperry Rail Services HyRail”, on the Western Forum.
Times have really changed.

Ex-Lehigh Valley #28, built by St. Louis Car in 1925.
