Nostalgia & History > A Surprise Zephyr PictureDate: 10/22/14 11:14 A Surprise Zephyr Picture Author: MartyBernard While searching the Wisconsin Historical Society's Online Collection I found this picture of one of the CB&Q's first Twin Zephyrs. The data with it:
The diesel-powered Zephyr passenger train of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad on the tracks at the depot. The [Pioneer] Zephyr was introduced at the Chicago Exposition of Progress in 1933, an event which marked the end of the era of steam-powered locomotives. You are amazing...... Jon Date: 10/22/14 21:28 Re: A Surprise Zephyr Picture Author: MartyBernard All I did was find it at a historical society's online collection. That's not amazing. Now if I had taken and posted it, that would be amazing and I'd be about 95.
