Three Photos, Milwaukee Road Tower A5, 1982
Author: MartyBernard

Tower A5 is in northwest Chicago controlling the interlocking plant where the Milwaukee Road (now CP) from Chicago Union Station branched west to Elgin and north to Rondout. These three photographs were taken on August 18, 1982. The F40C in the second photo is #43, originally named the Village of East Dundee but changed to Village of Schaumburg. The train in the first picture was coming down the line from Rondout. The train in the third picture was coming in from Elgin.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Marty, that picture of 43 sure looks like it says "Schaumburg"

There was also a line to the east, known as the Bloomingdale Line. It has been abandoned and plans are underway to reuse it for a trail/greenway.
