Probably scared the crap out of the Sperry guys, out looking for at least
one good length of rail. Probably the last place you'd expect to see a Sperry
car. Reportedly one went out the Loyalton branch on the WP in the early 70's
so I guess there is some precedent.

Just about the rarest Oregon railroad photos I can imagine. It must have been a long day for the Sperry crew, and I bet they ran out of spray paint marking all the rail spots of interest to them. I'm glad to see the UP was showing interest in this branch. Thanks for showing these excellent shots.
