The agent at Barber NC (1972-1976) had a two wire jumper cable in his office. He said that it was for the "jumper" receptacle next to the MU receptacle. He said that this cable was used when a locomotive "would not load up". I hope that maybe it makes sense to you. I am not a technically oriented person but do remember what he told me.
