Nostalgia & History > Interchange at White River JunctionDate: 11/25/14 09:44 Interchange at White River Junction Author: MaineLines White River Junction, Vermont served as an interchange point for freight between the Canadian Pacific and the Boston and Maine when these photos were taken in the mid 1960s. A southbound CP freight approaches town along the Connecticut River in the first photo then enters the yard in the second. Finally a B&M switcher works the cut of cars at the south end of the yard.

------------------------------------------------------- > What railroads are there now? New England Central and the Green Mountain Railroad operate through White River Junction these days. Amtrak's Vermonter stops once in each direction every day. - Chris http://www.milepost15.com http://www.facebook.com/milepost15 Date: 11/25/14 13:56 Re: Interchange at White River Junction Author: briancdn Just wonderful images; I was first there in '74 shooting black & white.

Would the CP power have been run-through? I thought that B&M owned the line up to Wells River, which is where the property interchange was with CP. |
