Nostalgia & History > Tidewater Southern 1983Date: 11/26/14 15:07 Tidewater Southern 1983 Author: CrudPunko UP No. 718, a 1963-built GP30, accelerates through Crows Landing south of Modesto on former WP subsidiary Tidewater Southern trackage on Sept 4, 1983. For a few years after the WP merger UP compensated us with an influx of GP30s and then DDA40Xs. Alas, it was not to last :-) (© KPR Media Services, all rights reserved)

that's somewhere South of Rogers on the TS line to Turlock? Out Date: 11/26/14 17:33 Re: Tidewater Southern 1983 Author: coach I think Crow's Landing Road extends all the way across the valley to the Modesto area, but not the township of Crow's Landing.

In the 1970s and early 1980s this area was often referred to as Crows Landing. It just south of what now is Modesto Junction but at the time was a crossing of the SP by the TS. Unfortunately I am not home to check my timetables of the era. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/26/14 19:57 by CrudPunko. |
