Nostalgia & History > Santa Fe Break In RunDate: 12/17/14 12:38 Santa Fe Break In Run Author: callum_out On a break in run from the San Bernardino Shops, 4 SD-39 rebuilds head East between Frost
and Victorville (CA) in May of 1986. Out Date: 12/17/14 13:18 Re: Santa Fe Break In Run Author: ddg Looks like that Boxcar got shoved off in the mud.

Date: 12/17/14 15:41 Re: Santa Fe Break In Run Author: callum_out It might have been the cement plant at Cushenbury which I believe was still using coal at the time
as was Oro Grande. Either that or an SR-71/A-12 flyover. Out Date: 12/17/14 15:47 Re: Santa Fe Break In Run Author: trainman630 nycman Wrote:

Date: 12/17/14 17:55 Re: Santa Fe Break In Run Author: callum_out East, the units were headed East to Barstow where they would be turned and return
with a San Berdoo train. Out Date: 12/17/14 18:17 Re: Santa Fe Break In Run Author: 3rdswitch That top photo is almost definately westbound in Victorville proper about to duck under Happy Trails Hwy (Hwy 18) departing after picking up pushers in SP8595 photo, Mojave River is to right which is on east side of tracks. Smoke is probably from Victorville cement or maybe even Oro Grande cement definately not Cushenberry as that was thirty miles southeast of this location. Nice catches.

post the Eastbound trip as I find the slides. Out |
