RR oriented episode of "Highway Patrol."
Author: K3HX

"Blood Money" is the episode title.

Much of the action takes place in a railyard.

Also, a chance to see a VERY young Leonard Nimoy as a villian.

Be Well,

Actually, there were several episodes of "Highway Patrol" where S.P. had an integral part of the plot.

The yard where Leonard Nimoy's character was shaking down people was Gemco.

Not Gemco... It was filmed at the old Links and the Bull Ring Yard

"White Christmas" with Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby was on TV last night, with a railroad segment.

After a jam in Miami, the boys boarded a Santa Fe train (insert quick picture of Santa Fe train) and headed to Vermont. Insert a view of upper and lower berths, and cut to a Southern Pacific train amid the palms as the train pulls into a station in snowy Vermont.

If you watch the very end of North by Northwest, the train entering the tunnel is a northbound SP Daylight into the tunnel in Chatsworth that goes under Topanga Blvd, next to Stoney Point.

Also check out Highway Patrol 129 Train Robbery on Youtube.

The station is Santa Susana?

Aside from the trains, "Highway Patrol" that was one of the worst cop shows of all time...

Yes. At the opening of the episode, they show the station sign on the end of the building.

I agree. It's hard to believe Broderick Crawford won an Oscar for his role in All the King's Men, given his performances as Dan Mathews.

I will confess that I still watch HP in rerun, partly because I used to watch it as a kid, and partly because it's interesting to see southern California as it was in the '50s.
