Winter Arrives at Black Butte, CA
Author: king86

The first snow of the season is falling at Black Butte, CA as two "new" SD70's lead an EB toward Klamath Falls. I'm not sure the year I took these, but I remember the old steam water spout was still standing then. The parked cars were for the old Siskiyou Line, which is north (SP east) of where I'm standing. I always thought the SD70's looked the best in the SP paint.

It doesn't look like we are going to get a white Christmas in Dunsmuir but Im sure it wont be long before that white crap stars falling. Nice shots Jeff.

Yes, that has a winter look to it. It's not always snow shovels and good times with snow chains.

The 2 bay hoppers on the siding must put a date on it somehow. The water plug was taken out by a derailment but I don't have the date, it is in the TO archives somewhere.

The water column was destroyed by a derailment on 12/07/2000.

I guess I was lucky in October of 2000 when I got this shot
