Quite a N&W Geep Lash-up, Shenadoah Valley, 1970

The leader was N&W 943, a GP18, but I'll bet most of the other Geeps were GP9s. My slide mount says it was the 4th of July, 1970.

Rear two units look to be Alcos.

first 3 are Geeps, last 2 are Alco RS11's

Great photos, Marty, thanks for taking and posting. You can almost feel the train moving in the 2nd one.

Monon, Seaboard, Cotton Belt, Wabash, Geeps, Alcos, pole lines... The Shenandoah Valley is still beautiful, but how times have changed.
