Where in Missouri Was I?
Author: MartyBernard

I took two slides of three N&W units being moved some place in Missouri on August 5, 1967. Don't know why I left a blank on the slide mount. The mile marker says 150. This was not that long after the Wabash became part of the N&W.

The units were:

-- 3525, a U25B, ex-Wabash 525

-- 213, a GP35

-- 3543, a GP35, ex-Wabash 543

So where was I in Missouri?

Although I don't know the old Wabash across the "Show Me State" all that well, could this possibly be in the yard at Moberly? (The woods in the background remind me of my visits there...) Nice shots and thanks for sharing... Merry Christmas to all!

Two miles west of Moberly, MO at a present day location called CP Wayside.

The guys at Norfolk and Western's paint department sure didn't waste any time once N&W leased the Wabash. Seems like the ink was barely dry on the paper before they started painting everything blue into black.

First shot from MP 150. It's at my back. Switching on the lead I think into the yard. Facing east. Think it was a road crossing at one point as there is an approach and they put up a guard rail to prevent further attempts to cross tracks.
