Nostalgia & History > BN Klamath Falls with a little snowDate: 12/21/14 09:37 BN Klamath Falls with a little snow Author: callum_out It's late November 1978 and the daily excitement is about to leave Klamath Falls to head South
to Stockton, CA. Normal first line power for this train includes a C425/C636/F7B/GP35/RS11 set of fine power. In 1978 the BN was power wise about where the SP was and whatever ran went out on trains. Of the three daily trains this most likely would have been the lowest priority. Out Date: 12/21/14 10:19 Re: BN Klamath Falls with a little snow Author: bradleymckay Most likely this is train BN171 from Spokane. More often than not it left K-Falls about this time of day.
The lowest priority trains were BN139/BN140. When traffic levels were high they ran (as was case when the photo was taken) but were the first to be eliminated when traffic levels declined. So while it's not out of the question that this train could be BN139, it's highly likely this is BN171. Nice photos BTW. Allen Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/21/14 10:21 by bradleymckay.
