CNJ Hand Me Downs in 1970

Toward the end of the CNJ, hand me downs from the N&W and B&O helped keep the freight moving. Here are some scenes from Bethlehem, Pa of F units in 1970.

These are great photos. Always liked the looks of F units mixed with Geeps of RSs in freight service.

I always thought the NW f's were leased and B&O f's and sd's were hand me downs?

Those N&W F's became regulars on my beloved High Bridge Branch after the Baldwin DR-4-4-1500's were replaced.

I had heard that some of those f's were repainted without permission.

One N&W one became CNJ #27. ex B&O's could be lettered CNJ and renumbered but doing that to an N&W one violated the lease terms

Dale, Awesome! Never knew about these. Did CNJ lease these units? If not what exactly constitutes a "hand-me-down"?
Thanks.
