That Eastbounder sure is making good time up the Hill! Looks like a tank car still with friction bearing trucks and a nice SP 89' boxcar right ahead of the helper set! Great stuff, keep the SP in the 80's coming:}

Neato superbly CLASIC SP days in beautiful socal desert areas.
This brings back many GOOD memories.
the 1980s were Good and Friendly days to watch
the friendly SP and ATSF (etc) around the west.

Glorious capture of the great SP!
I always get nervous seeing empty flats ahead of helper engines. At least that doesn't work in model form.
